Jackie Kay Burks

May 18, 1947 — November 21, 2021

Jackie Kay Burks, 74, of Kaufman, TX, passed away on November 21, 2021 surrounded by her family. Jackie was born on May 18, 1947 to Clyde and Cathryne Garn in Kaufman, TX. She was raised in Kaufman and spent the majority of her adult life in Kaufman. She graduated from Kaufman High School in 1965. Jackie retired from the Kaufman County Sheriff's Department after 10 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Linda Cox, her Aunt Winnie, and father to her son, Ricky Burks. Those left to cherish her memory are son Richie Burks and wife Ashley, grandchildren: Brody and Brock Burks; sister Patsy Leftwich and husband H.; nieces and nephews: Wes Cox, Daleann Novian, Patty Newton, Karen Andrus, and JoPaul Adcock; along with numerous great nieces and nephews; special friend Mack Rhoades, his daughter Heather, son in law Bobby Kirby, and their son Coy Mack.

Jackie was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and sister. Jackie loved spending time with her grandkids and loved being a "Gran". She enjoyed watching Brody and Brock play sports and watching Coy Mack rodeo. She was competitive in nature and demonstrated that watching her grandkids play sports. She was quite the talker, loved laughing, a good joke, and never met a stranger! She loved playing Wahoo with Mack, friends, and family. She had a love for makeup, bright lipstick, and jewelry. She was never seen without a Sonic Diet Dr. Pepper in hand. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she started planning and buying gifts in August. Jackie was one of a kind and will never be forgotten. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
