Gerald Wayne Scott

Gerald Wayne Scott, 82, of Trinidad, TX passes away on November 16, 2020 in Kaufman, TX. Gerald was born on April 14, 1938 to Hawk and Ruby Jack Scott in Murchinson, TX. He went to school in Murchinson and went straight into the Marines where he served from 1956-1959. After leaving the marines he married Lana Scott, and they were together until she passed away in January 2014. Gerald worked as a mechanic and worked hard to provide for his family. He also built and owned race cars; from drag cars, stock cars and super modified. He spent time raising and training horses and going to rodeos. Being around his kids and his grandkids was what he loved to do most. He was a beloved father, grandfather and brother. His wife, parents, brother: Arthur Vernon and Kenneth Ray Scott, sisters: Flow Jean Little and Bonnie Jo Gardner; and half-sister Irene Griffin preceded him in death. Those left to cherish his memory include son Jerry Scott and spouse Joshua Hager, daughter Ronda Weaver and significant other Quinton James, grandchildren: Kasey Weaver significant other Thomas Morrow and Kody Weaver; great grandchildren: Taytor Chilton, Kaylee Morrow, Tia Morrow, Tyson Morrow and Keyton Weaver; brother Roy Scott, sister Elouise Gardner, numerous extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Vehicles attending the drive-by graveside will begin to line up in the parking lot of Ola Church of Christ.  At 4pm we will begin letting cars drive through the cemetery,  you'll be able to sign a register book and receive a memorial hand out, and then drive through the back gate of the cemetery.  Family will be seated near the casket under the tent,  and will be available to speak to quickly.  If you do step out of the vehicle, please be aware of the others in line and keep the time out of the vehicle to a minimum.
