June 18, 1922 — December 10, 2021

William Howard Newcomb, 99 of Kaufman, TX passed away peacefully on December 10, 2021. Bill was born on June 18, 1922, in Guymon, Oklahoma to Gus and Grace Newcomb. He was the third of six children (Charles, Marcella, William, Gene, Beth and LaNell).  He grew up on the family's ranch in the Panhandle of Texas. He was a veteran of WWII. He married Reba Lousie Patton on September 12, 1945 and together they had two children, Michael Newcomb and Patsy Newcomb Schmitto.  Several years later, on January 15, 1965 he married Joyce Kinder who had three children, Larry Matthews, Bobby Thompson and Becky Neal. Bill was a machinist most of his career. After he retired, he and Joyce enjoyed their life on Cedar Creek Lake filled with many family gatherings. Bill always enjoyed taking family and friends fishing on his barge and hosting family fish fry dinners. At 97, Bill moved to his daughter, Becky and son-in-law, Charlies’ farm in a tiny home built for him. Bill is survived by his brother Gene Newcomb and wife Linda, sisters Beth Auten and LaNell Thompson, his sons Mike and wife Mary Ellen, Larry and wife Marilyn, and Bobby and wife Carla, his daughters Patsy and husband Jerry, and Becky and husband Charlie, 12 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, brother-in-law Ken Kinder and wife Judy, sister-in-law Betty Kinder, brother-in-law Jackie Kinder and wife Donna,  brother-in-law David Kinder and wife Karen, and many nephews and nieces who will all miss him dearly.
