William Henry Kerr, 89, of Kaufman, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026. Born on January 15, 1937, William (Bill) lived a long, full, and faith‑centered life devoted to family, service, and the values he cherished. A proud United States Marine, Bill carried the discipline, honor, and commitment of his service throughout his life. He was a devoted Catholic and a longtime member of Saint Ann Catholic Church in Kaufman, where his faith shaped his character and his love for others.
Bill married the love of his life, Dorothy, and together they shared an extraordinary 69 years of marriage—a testament to unwavering devotion and partnership. Their family was the center of Bill’s world. He is survived by his children: Daughter Sherry Kerr & Cecil Stewart, Son William Kerr Jr. & Wife Shelly Kerr. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Covington, whom he lovingly remembered throughout his life. William was blessed with four grandchildren: Christie Miller & Husband Grant, Kellie Taylor & Husband Dallas, William Kerr III & Wife Kaylee, and Joshua Kerr & Jaiden Tocquigny. He also leaves behind cherished great‑grandchildren: Macie Miller, Michael Miller, Beckham Taylor, Ella June Taylor, and eagerly awaited William Kerr IV, due in August.
Professionally, Bill lived a life of dedication and hard work. He spent 21 years with Braniff International Airlines, followed by 22 years in healthcare, where his reliability, kindness, and work ethic left a lasting impact on colleagues and friends.
Bill was a proud member of the Creek Indian Tribe in Oklahoma and held deep affection for his native state. He treasured time spent in Tulsa, Spavinaw, and Grand Lake, where he found joy in the outdoors. He loved boating, fishing, and training thoroughbred racehorses—activities that brought him peace and connection to the land he loved.
His favorite holidays were Fourth of July, Halloween, and Christmas, celebrations he filled with laughter, tradition, and family togetherness.
Above all, Bill will be remembered for his love of family and friends, his steady presence, his stories, his humor, and the legacy of loyalty and strength he leaves behind. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and his impact everlasting.
