Sherry Ann McKenzie Roberts, 75, of Kemp, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 1, 2026.
Sherry was born on June 24, 1950, in Kaufman, Texas, to Marvin Odell McKenzie and Willie Faye Bruner McKenzie. She was raised in Kaufman and graduated from Kaufman High School in 1968.
Throughout her life, Sherry held various jobs and built many meaningful relationships along the way. One of her favorite careers was serving as a Senior Sales Assistant at Robert W. Baird & Company, from where she retired in 2015. However, her greatest joy came from working alongside her husband on the family ranch, 5 Kids Ranch (5KR), where she spent countless hours caring for the land and the cattle she loved so dearly.
On October 26, 1995, Sherry married the love of her life, Joe Roberts. Together they shared life filled with faith, family, ranching, and making memories with those they loved most.
Sherry was happiest when she was surrounded by her family. She never missed an opportunity to support her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Whether it was a football game, soccer match, skate park, school event, rodeo, graduation, or any special celebration, she would travel any distance to be there. Her family knew that if it mattered to them, it mattered to her.
She loved ranching, gardening, attending rodeos, supporting military events, spending time on the ranch, and watching over her cows. The ranch wasn’t simply where she lived—it was where her heart was.
Sherry was a devoted Christian whose faith guided her daily life. She was a member of Victory Church of Scurry, Texas. She loved Jesus deeply, beginning each morning with coffee and her Jesus Calling devotional. She often reminded those she loved that they were not lucky—they were blessed. Her unwavering faith, kind heart, and servant spirit left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin Odell and Willie Faye McKenzie; her sisters, Nelda Dodson, Sue Ballard, and Vickie Johnson; and her brother, Douglas McKenzie.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Joe Roberts; daughter, Angela Hill and significant other Bret Freeman; daughter, Elizabeth Spurgeon and husband Joe David; sons, Brandon Roberts and wife Lily, Michael Roberts and wife Kim, and Brian Roberts and wife Erin.
She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Dustin Jackson and wife Shelby, Stephen Loeb III, Anna Grace Loeb and fiancé Jacob Conn, Rylan Roberts, Bohdi Roberts, Gunnar Roberts, Colden Roberts, Amelia Roberts, and Benjamin David Roberts; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Sadie Kate Jackson, Truett Jackson, and Leddy Rae Jackson.
Sherry also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her deeply and remember her always.
To know Sherry was to know unconditional love, steadfast faith, fierce devotion to family, and a woman who found joy in the simple blessings of life.
Her family finds comfort in knowing that the woman who spent her life longing to meet Jesus has finally been welcomed home.
