Ronnie Lane Butler, 76, of Kaufman, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on October 18, 2026. Born on May 27, 1950, in Ralls, Texas, to Richard and Arlene Butler, Ronnie lived a life filled with hard work, a love for the things that brought him joy, and, above all, a deep love for his family.
Ronnie graduated from Roaring Springs High School in 1968 and began his career in tile manufacturing, eventually becoming an electrical engineer. He was a hardworking man who enjoyed staying busy and could often be found working on cars, especially when it meant helping get one of his sons’ cars running again. He had a true passion for drag racing and loved spending time fishing, or being on the water. He bought a pontoon especially for his grandkids.
Of all the things Ronnie enjoyed in life, nothing compared to the time he spent with his grandchildren. They held a special place in his heart, and he never passed up an opportunity to see them. One of the sweetest memories will always be Ronnie coming up the driveway on his Kawasaki, making his way over to “the kids” house just to visit with his grandkids. It was one of those simple, everyday moments that meant so much and will forever bring smiles to the faces of those who loved him. Those memories, along with his love, laughter, and the time he shared with his family, will be treasured for years to come.
On December 7, 1982, Ronnie married the love of his life, Sharon E Serna Butler. Together, they shared 43 years of marriage, building a life and creating memories that will forever be cherished. Ronnie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Arlene Butler; his son, Aaron Christopher Butler; his siblings, Winona Westbrook, Benny Butler, Richard Butler Jr., and Joann Daniels; and his brothers-in-law, Wayne Williams and Charles Westbrook.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Sharon E Serna Butler; his son, Joseph Lane Butler, and wife, Courtney; his beloved grandchildren, Savannah Rankin, Piper Butler, Ellis Butler, and Dewey Butler; his siblings, Sue Williams and Elzia Butler and wife, Yvonne; his sister-in-law, Tommie Butler; his brother-in-law, Buck Daniels; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Though his family’s hearts are broken by his passing, they find comfort in knowing that Ronnie is no longer suffering and has made it home to Heaven, where he is reunited with loved ones who went before him. His life was a blessing, his memory will be a treasure, and the love he gave his family will live on for generations to come.
