Rodney Ray Adams was born on September 12, 1951 to Roderick (R.N.) Adams & Juanita Heffington Adams and passed away July 2, 2026 at his home in Kaufman.
Rod, as he was know to most, was part of a multi-generational Adams family in the Kaufman area, as a youth Rod participated in motor cross racing, billiard tournaments, and riding bareback horses in the PRCA, in his post teen years Rod worked along the side of his father in the highway construction business before forming Rod Adams Investments, a company that built several single, multi-family, and commercial developments within Kaufman.
In 2005 Rod lost his son, Seagoville Fire Department Captain Jimmy Wayne Adams, that tragedy shifted Rod’s energy to became focused on Philanthropy. Rod was a founding member and director for the Helping Angels of Kaufman, an organization built on the foundation of helping people with a hand up, he was also involved with the Kaufman Children’s Shelter, AMBUCS, Children’s Advocacy Center for Kaufman, Senior Connect, as well as many individuals, in 2013 Rod was awarded the Citizen of the Year Award for his charitable activities. Rod is survived by his Nieces & Nephews Kanzi Hebb, Wade Hebb, Matt and Keri Adams, and Cousin Glen Ashworth.
Rod asked that in lieu of flowers please make donations to the Kaufman Children’s Shelter.
