Robert Evans Smith

Robert Evans Smith was born on May 2, 1927, in Stonewall, Mississippi. He was born to his parents Parmer Mountford Smith and Ruby Pully.

Robert is a U.S. Navy veteran proudly serving in WW2, Korea, and Vietnam. Robert began is Navy career as an enlisted Gunners Mate in WW2. In 1962, he was commissioned as an Ensign, Aviation Maintenance Engineer, in 1962. He retired in 1969 as a 03, Nuclear Weapons Specialist.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Elizabeth Y. Smith, and all of his siblings.

He is survived by his children, Mike, Kathleen, Robert, Daniel, John, Kelli, Steven, adopted son Mark, and foster children, Eddie and Daisy, as well as, and in his own words, "more Grandkids and Great-Grandkids than you can shake a stick at".

Robert will be laid to rest, with Military Honors, next to his beloved wife, at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Scurry, Texas, on Friday, December 15, 2023, at 11:00 am.
