Robert Curtis Polley, Sr. (94) Of Scurry, Texas went to be home with the Lord on December 26, 2025. Robert was born on February 12, 1931 to Curtis and Mary Polley. He was the 2nd of 10 children. He met Wilma Jean Taylor. They were married on November 8, 1952.
Robert served 30 years in the Air Force where he received numerous awards for his service. After retirement his family moved to scurry and he worked for Trinity Valley reading meters.
He was a baseball player and coach for many years along with umpiring and refereeing.
He served as a deacon in numerous churches with the last church of First Assembly in Kaufman, where he and Wilma attended for 36 years. His greatest joy was greeting people when they walked in the door.
Robert served with Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home for a number of years, and was a comfort to many.
Family was the most important to Robert. He loved being surrounded by all of his kids. He loved watching his kids and grandkids play all kinds of sports and never missing an event or game.
He was well known in his community and never met a stranger.
Robert is survived by Wilma Taylor Polley, his wife of 73 years, Son, Robert Polley, Jr. And wife, Tammi; Daughter, Debra Polley Brown and husband Charles; Daughter Lisa Polley; Grandchildren: Stephanie Polley Gray and husband Les, Amy Willbanks, Jeremy McLain and wife, Shannon, Justin Polley & wife Melanie, Kaylie Neumeier & husband Colby; Great Grandchilden: Mike, JD, Krista, Bailey, Cutter, Kassidee, Marley, Pyper, Milly Jo, Brazos, Cameron, Khaki, Jensen, Brody, Maddox, Kash, and Finn; Great-Great Grandchildren: Raelynn, Rozyn, Blayr Kay, Jaxon, Gracie, Rivie Raye and Randall; Sisters: Betty Lee, Wanda Hopkins, Judy Thomas & Carolyn Ruble.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, 4 sisters and 1 brother.
