Richard Rogers

Richard Melton Rogers, 89, of Kaufman, TX passed away on February 3, 2026. Richard was born on October 16, 1936, to Evan and Mary Rogers in Christopher, IL. He joined the Marines and spent 25 years serving his country in the armed forces. After the Marines, he worked as a security guard for Dr. Pepper for many years. He still had many collectible items of Dr. Pepper memorabilia. In 1995, he married Sue Rogers, and they spent a loving 22 years together before her passing in 2017. Richard enjoyed going dancing, country dancing and line dancing, and working in his yard. He was also a caring person, always lending a helping hand. He was a beloved Son, Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Brother. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evan and Mary, wife Sue, grandchild Dustin and 5 siblings. Those left to cherish his memory are children: Brenda Roundtree and husband Tary, Cindy Elsie and husband Steve, and Cheryl Swinford and husband Gerry; grandchildren: Ashley, Tiffany, Glen, Alex, and Amanda; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, sister Connie, niece Angel, numerous extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
