Richard Paul Mobley, of Cedar Hill, passed away on May 2, 2026, at home. Paul was born on August 15, 1947 to Luther Paul and Sarah Viola Mobley in Cedar Hill, TX. Paul grew up in Cedar Hill graduating from High School in 1967. He was drafted in the Army in June 1967 and served in Vietnam until his honorable discharge in 1969. Returning home he joined the Bedford Police Department and continued to serve as an officer for 30 years, before his retirement, for Bedford PD, DeSoto PD, and Dallas Community College PD. Paul retired as a Lieutenant for Dallas Community College in 1999. After retirement, he stayed with Dallas Community College as a computer technician for another 9 years when he retired again in 2008. On October 1, 1982, Paul married Shelly Mobley and they spent a loving 43 years together. He enjoyed building, fixing and playing with computers. Paul would go fishing when he was able but would also tinker around with all kinds of projects. He would meet up with his school and military buddies to eat breakfast about once a month. Paul’s most precious time was spent with his family; wife, son and grandchildren. He was a beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather. His parents, Luther and Sarah, and brothers Joe and Jimmy Mobley preceded him in death. Those left to cherish his memory are wife, Shelly, son Ryan and wife Emily, and grandchildren, Chelsea and Ryker, numerous extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
