Dr. Richard Lee Diefenbaugh

Dr. Richard Lee Diefenbaugh, 84, of Crandall, TX passed away on April 10, 2019 in Kaufman, TX. Richard was born on August 12, 1934 to Edward and Virginia Diefenbaugh. He lived in Dallas for 30 years before moving to Crandall in 2001. Richard married Delouise Diefenbaugh on July 7, 1992 in Dallas, TX. In his earlier years, he was in the United States Air Force and the United States Marines Reserve. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Houston and went on to achieve his PhD to practice as an Optometrist. He worked as an optometrist for over 40 years in Dallas, 38 of which he owned his own practice. He loved to build things, work with tools and to shop. He was a generous person with immeasurable wit.  He was a beloved husband, brother and uncle.  Richard’s parents and sister Lynda Dodson preceded him in death.  Those left to cherish his memory are his wife; Delouise Diefenbaugh, nieces: Leesa Morrison, Heidi Combs and Greta Harrison; nephew Dirk Dodson; and many extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
