Paula Joyce Hobbs

Paula Joyce Hobbs, 72, of Ola, went to be with the Lord on March 29, 2023.  Paula was born on May 16, 1950 to George and Ilene Hughes in Decatur, TX.  She grew up in Forney where she graduated from high school and later attended both Tyler Junior College and The University of Texas in Austin before beginning work in downtown Dallas.  On November 6, 1976, Paula married Haynes Darrell Hobbs in Seagoville, TX and they have been together for 46 loving years.  She held various  part time roles and did some student teaching before deciding to stay home to take care of her growing family.  They moved to Kaufman in 1992, before building their dream home on family land in Ola in 1994, where they have been ever since.  Paula loved her family with her life revolving around her twin boys' schedules until they left for college.  In her later years, she enjoyed spending time with her many grandchildren.  She would attend as many sporting events and stage performances as she should get to. Paula was a caregiver at her core, giving her time to family, friends, volunteering at nursing homes, taking in children from Cherokee Home, and caring for people in their most difficult of times.  Paula loved hosting all family gatherings and parties, meticulously planning every detail and theme.  Paula was also an avid crafter in her younger years, had a great love of music and volunteered to help do the bookkeeping for Morrow Chapel Cemetery.  She was a charter member of Landmark Church of Christ in Kaufman.  Paula was a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Sister.  Her parents, George and Ilene, and a daughter-in-law, Cara Hobbs, preceded her in death.  Those left to cherish her memory are husband Darrell, children: Haynes Aaron Hobbs and wife Nicole of Milwaukee, WI, Justin Darrell Hobbs and wife Kelsey of Fairview, TX, and Kristina Bomer and husband John of Forney, TX; grandchildren: Katelyn Trotter and husband Gabe, Bryan Bomer and wife Katelyn, Kymberlin Sanders, Kayleigh Sanders, Hailey Hobbs, Kate Hobbs, Henry Hobbs, Margot Hobbs, Chase Hobbs, Emily Hobbs, Julia Hobbs; great grandchildren: Oliver Trotter, Wesley Bomer, Tamzen Trotter and Carson Bomer; brother George Hughes and wife Charlotte, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.  A lunch will be served at Landmark Church of Christ following the burial.
