Patsy Ann Hedrick, 85, of Kaufman, TX went to be with the Lord on September 12, 2025, surrounded by family. Patsy is a “leaper”, born on February 29, 1940, to Homer and Maymie Brewer in Peeltown, TX. Being raised in Peeltown, she attended Kemp High School and graduated in 1957. On September 5, 1959, Patsy married Jerry Hedrick and they have spent a loving 66 years together. Later in life Patsy attended East Texas State University earning her Bachelor of Science degree and became an educator. She was an English teacher and retired from Kemp ISD.
Patsy loved going to casinos, watching the Texas Aggies, TCU Horned Frogs' Track & Field, Texas Rangers and the Kansas City Chiefs. She loved all holidays, especially Christmas and Easter, with elaborate decorations and so many presents for her family and the hiding of the infamous prize eggs for the kids and grandkids.
Patsy was an avid reader; she tried the kindle, but Patsy liked turning actual pages of a novel because she always read the last chapter first.. Her favorite title was “Nana”, and her whole world were her grandsons. Patsy supported them, traveled wherever they were to see them and cheered them on and loved them so dearly. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Kaufman and later joined Community Life Church in Kaufman.
Patsy fought a courageous battle over the past year, never complaining, never saying she felt bad, with the ugly diseases of cancer and diabetes. The family appreciates the loving care provided by Ultimate Plus Hospice. A special thank you to Val Owens and Jimmie Anderson for such loving, and compassionate care..
Patsy was a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Maymie, and 6 siblings. Those left to cherish her memory are husband, Jerry, daughters: Cathy Chambers and husband Brian, and Jeri Ann Hendrick; grandsons Jordan Chambers and wife Kayla and Justin Chambers and wife Sarah; and great grandchildren: Raylan, Rynn and Cal; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
