Orville Columbus Kimery, 90, of Scurry TX went to be with the Lord on September 18, 2026 at his home. Orville was born April 9, 1936 to Carl and Willie Kimery at home in Cottonwood TX. He attended Scurry-Rosser schools from first grade to senior year. On July 30, 1954 he married Millie Pryor in Tri Cities Athens TX. This marriage encompassed 67 years.
His career was that of a postman in the Dallas and surrounding area. He built his family a home in Cottonwood TX in 1966 and commuted to the Dallas Post Office. He retired in 1992 after serving 35 years of service. After retirement he found that sitting at home was not for him so he took a few small jobs to occupy the days. He participated in many activities with his children and wife, traveling the country was one of his favorite things. He served on the Scurry-Rosser school board for many years as well as a Deacon of his church.
Orville was a God-fearing man that assured his family attended church and taught his children to be strong in their faith as well. He was proceeded in death by his wife Millie, parents Carl and Willie Kimery, brother Wayne Kimery, sister Betty Moore and son-in-law Larry Neighbors. Those left to cherish the wonderful memories of his life include, daughters Kathy Crews and husband Dwayne, Karen Neighbors, Karla Ricketts and husband Chris. Eight grandchildren, Derrick Crews and wife Leah, Jason Crews and wife Dusty, Larissa Ross and husband Mike, Nathan Neighbors, Ashley Tucker and husband Keith, Casey Ricketts and wife Lily, Brandon Ricketts and wife Melissa, Emily Mobley and husband Ryan, Crystal Crews and 22 great grandchildren. As well as 2 sisters Linda Tijerina and Ruth Kennedy. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Orville will be laid to rest in the Cottonwood Cemetery until Jesus comes again.
