Larry Gene Dawson

Larry Gene Dawson, 75, of DeSoto, TX passed away on July 15, 2021.  Larry was born on October 2, 1945 to Earl and Imogene Dawson in Bonham, TX.  Larry grew up in Pleasant Grove graduating from Spruce High School with the first graduating class in 1964.  He worked as a truck driver for several years before opening up his own HVAC Company.  He operated Weatherbee Service Company for 12 years.  He would return to truck driving till he retired in 2003.  While he was driving his truck he was a member of the Teamsters Local 745.  On May 28, 1977 he married Donna Reid and they spent a loving 44 years together.  He enjoyed his time gardening and would talk to anybody.  He knew no stranger.  He loved the time he spent with his grandkids and going to the games.  He also loved going to Lake Tawakoni with his wife, Donna, in their RV.  Larry was a beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather.  He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Imogene and 1 sister.  Those left to cherish his memory includes: wife Donna of DeSoto, TX, son David Dawson and wife Ily of Garland, TX; daughter: Deanna Guillen and husband Silver of Kaufman, TX and Leslie Gorman and husband Brandon of Mansfield, TX; grandchildren: Stephanie Dawson, Josiah Guillen, Micah Guillen, Ezra Guillen and Barrett Gorman; 2 great grandchildren, 1 sister, numerous extended family and friends.
