Landa grew up in Scurry TX the oldest daughter of 7 children.   She met the love of her life Ken while working as a checker at Best for Less grocery store .  Ken worked in the meat market and when Landa initiated a lunch with all the co-workers, Ken’s response was "When we go to lunch, it will just be me & you".   The two dated for a few years before bringing their families together .  2 daughters and 2 sons would complete their circle. During these years Landa also began a career at Southwestern Bell .  After raising their kids in Mesquite Texas, Landa and Ken returned to her roots of Scurry to be near Landa’s Mom and family.  She retired from the phone company after 32 years and began working along side her son in his family business in 2000.  Landa loved to be near family always. Landa loved hummingbirds, angels , starbucks and sweet tea.   She loved mexican food at LaPradera , Saturday morning breakfast at her brothers &  Judge Judy . She loved perfectly folded towels , bird houses and road trips.  She loved gumballs, staying up late & seemed to  always be running late .
