Kenneth Douglas “Kenny” Dickerson went to be with the Lord on September 29, 2026. He was born on April 29, 1952, in Natchitoches, Louisiana, to Walter Frank Dickerson and Hester Jewell Barnes. His family later moved to Terrell, Texas, where Kenny spent much of his childhood before settling in Kaufman.
At the age of 19, Kenny married Glenda Gwen Swaggerty of Terrell in 1971. Together, they welcomed two children, Kenneth William Dickerson and Brandy Renee Dickerson. In 1980, Kenny married Nancy Nell Tull, and they were blessed with two children, Amber Dawn Walker and Jeremy Dale Dickerson. During those years, Kenny and his family lived in Edgewood, Texas. Later in life, Kenny married Rebecca Tijerina Miller, whose two children, Rodney Chandler and Bethany Miller, became part of their family. Kenny loved and cherished Rebecca and the family they shared.
Kenny worked at Titus Industries for more than 30 years. His dedication and strong work ethic earned him an award recognizing 30 years of service. After leaving Titus Industries, Kenny began working at Advance Tabco in Kaufman, where he continued working for more than 20 years, until the time of his passing. Throughout his career, Kenny was known as a hardworking and dedicated man who took pride in providing for his family.
Beyond his work, Kenny was a loving man with a big heart and a wonderful sense of humor. He always had a joke ready and could bring laughter to those around him. Though he sometimes had a tough exterior, those who knew him well saw the kindness and love he carried in his heart.
Kenny loved hunting, fishing, and golf, and he had a lifelong passion for karate, earning his third-degree black belt. Above all, he adored his grandchildren. Every Friday, he would leave breakfast burritos and donuts in his truck at work so they could grab something on their way to school—a simple tradition that reflected his generous and loving heart.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Hester; and his siblings, Billy, Shirley, and Mary Ann.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Rebecca Dickerson; his brothers, Walter Dickerson and Jimmy Dickerson; his children, Kenneth William Dickerson and wife Carole, Brandy Renee Dickerson, Amber Dawn Walker and husband Dustin, and Jeremy Dale Dickerson; his stepchildren, Rodney Chandler and wife Karla Chandler, and Bethany Miller; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Kenny will be deeply missed and forever remembered. His love, laughter, hard work, and kind heart left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His family will carry his memory in their hearts and treasure the many memories he leaves behind.
Philippians 4:6–7
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
