Jimmie Lee Perdue, age 87, of Crandall, Texas, passed peacefully from this life into the arms of his Savior on December 1, 2025. Born on November 21, 1938 in Mineola, TX he was the beloved son of Charlie Perdue, Sr. and Rethel Chambers Perdue.
Jimmie grew up in a loving family and was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Perdue, Sr. and Rethel Chambers Perdue; brother, Charlie Perdue, Jr.; sister Rita Kay Smith; and daughter, Amy Perdue Melton.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Alice Perdue, who remained the love of his life and faithful companion. Jimmie leaves behind his cherished children: son Jeff Perdue and daughter Lori Cullum and husband Mark. He is also survived by his siblings: Bonnie Thompson, Linda Russell, and George Perdue.
Jimmie was blessed with a large and loving family, including 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, all of whom he adored. As PAPA he took immense joy in each moment spent with Jonathon Janicek and fiancée Deborah Cordero; Cambre Perdue; Caleb Perdue and wife Jessica, with children Colter and Harper Perdue; Megan Thompson and husband Jordan, with daughter Kyler Thompson; Lindsey Miller and husband Charleston, with children Hadley Shell and Kaze Miller; Ashley Sharp and husband Bryce, with children Landon Rice, Emersyn, and Rowyn Sharp; and Taylor Norris and fiancée Tori Allison, with children Jace and Hudson Norris. His pride in the family was immeasurable, and his heart was fullest when surrounded by laughter, love, and the warmth of their presence.
At the age of 19, Jimmie proudly answered the call to serve his country. He enlisted in the United States Army, serving in the USAR Signal Corps from September 12, 1958, to January 15, 1963. His dedication, discipline, and sense of duty were qualities he carried with him throughout his lifetime.
Jimmie possessed an incredible work ethic. For more than two decades, he worked for Shaw Equipment Company, where he became known for his reliability and remarkable mechanical talent. He later continued his career with Dallas County until his well-earned retirement.
A man of deep faith, Jimmie was baptized in Peeltown, Texas, at Lawrence Gillispie Memorial Baptist Church—an important milestone that shaped his walk with the Lord for the rest of his life.
He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, which brought him joy, peace, and countless memories. Known for his gift with engines and machinery, Jimmie could fix anything put in front of him. Whether it was a stubborn motor or a project others had given up on, he approached every challenge with skill, patience, and determination.
Above all else, Jimmie deeply loved his wife, his family, and his Lord. His faith in Jesus guided his steps, shaped his character, and brought him comfort throughout his life. Those who knew him will remember his gentle spirit, his steady presence, and the deep love he shared so freely.
Jimmie lived a wonderful life—full of purpose, laughter, hard work, and devotion. His legacy lives on through the family he treasured and the many lives he touched with kindness and quiet strength.
He will be dearly missed and forever loved. Though his absence leaves a deep ache in our hearts, we find comfort in knowing that he has entered into the glorious presence of his Lord and Savior. His life was a reflection of faith, kindness, and unwavering love—gifts he shared generously with everyone around him. As we hold his memory close, we rejoice in the promise that he now rests in the eternal peace of Heaven, where he is fully restored, fully rejoicing, and forever held in the loving arms of Jesus.
