Jeanna Penn Kyser Eulogy
Jeanna Penn Kyser was born on Sunday, July 18th in the year 1937, in the community of Warsaw, in Kaufman County, in the state of Texas.
Jeanna was the oldest daughter born to Dixie Mae Penn and Sydney Penn. Her parents moved to Kaufman, Texas when she was a small child. Her father was employed by his brother-in-law J.H. (Dick) Osborne who was a rancher.
She attended Kaufman schools and was in the class of 1958. After finishing school, Jeanna was employed by the Rio Grande Insurance Company of Dallas. She moved to the Tampico Apartments in 1958 where she met her future husband, Robert (Bob) George Kyser, who hailed from the state of Ohio.
Bob and Jeanna were married on August 3, 1961 at The First Baptist Church in Kaufman, Texas. The Reverend John Dickerson officiated the ceremony. Bob and Jeanna settled in the Lakewood area of Dallas in an apartment and Bob adopted Sharon and later Rory Robert arrived.
Jeanna was employed at Merchant's State Bank as a secretary to a loan officer. Lee Harvey Oswald's killer, Jack Ruby was a customer who frequently did business with Jeanna's boss. Jeanna found Jack Ruby to be a pleasant man who showed no indication of being capable of assassinating anyone.
Bob and Jeanna with their children moved to Garland in 1967. They resided there the rest of their married life and celebrated 50 years of marriage on August 3, 2011 with a celebration in Houston, Texas hosted by their daughter and son-in-law.
Along with her husband Bob, Jeanna became of member of Richardson Church of the Nazarene in Richardson, Texas in 1994.
After her husband's passing Jeanna moved to a Senior Independent Living facility in Houston, Texas in February 2016 to be near her daughter and son-in-law.
Jeanna's favorite hymns were "I bowed on my knees and cried Glory" and "Sheltered in the arms of God" and she especially loved "Whispering Hope" which her maternal grandmother introduced her to.
Her hobbies were walking, riding her bike, reading and doing crossword puzzles.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert George Kyser and her only son Rory Robert Kyser, her parents Sydney and Dixie Penn, her two brothers Sydney Wesley Penn and Joe Alex Penn, and little sister Lina Charles Penn Prather.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon /Andy Pritham of Houston, Texas. niece Mellissa/ Robert Myers of Seagoville, Texas, niece Carol/Randy Myers of Seagoville, Texas, niece Linda Cook of Leetonia, Ohio, niece Jo Ann /Robert Wiggs of Kenly, North Carolina, nephew Keith Kyser of Selma, North Carolina, niece Darlene Kyser of Ohio, niece Dalayna/Tony Lopez of Kaufman, Texas, nephew Gary Hawkins of Lakehills, Texas and niece Stephanie/Chad Green of Sachse, Texas and many great-nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Her Kaufman High School classmates who she kept in touch with over the years will sorely miss her and the many friends that she made throughout the years will miss her dearly as will her family.
Jeanna Penn Kyser was born again as a Christian in 1969. Her desire is that all that are here make peace with God through Jesus Christ His Son if they have not already done so, enabling a Reunion at some future day with no more goodbyes.
