Kathryn Janiece Gann was born September 9, 1926, in McCrory, Arkansas and passed away March 2, 2024, in Rockwall, Texas. Janiece was the second of four daughters born to Neal and Eva Lou Collier. Following her parent's divorce and her mother's remarriage, the family relocated to Kaufman, in the care of and into the home of her stepfather, Henry "Skeet" Warren. Janiece and her sisters attended Kaufman schools and thrived in the close-knit community. She married Lawrence Gann on March 24, 1944, and began married life farming and raising cattle. They had two children, Marilyn and David. In addition to being a farm wife, Janiece worked at Fuller Uniform Company during WW II providing clothing for the US Military. Later, she worked and retired from Kaufman ISD where her cooking skills provided lunches for school children. In her later years she rediscovered the faith of her youth and became a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church. She delighted in her great grandchildren and loved to have them gather around and hear stories of her long and extraordinary life. Janiece is preceded in death by her parents, Neal Collier, Eva Lou Warren and Henry Warren, husband Lawrence Gann, her sisters, Betty Roessler, Maxine Hesson and Frances Airheart, and granddaughter, Amanda Jones. Those left to cherish her memory and retell her stories are Marilyn Humphrey, David Gann, granddaughter, Sarah Beth Simons and husband Zach, grandson-in-law Camden Jones and wife Linda, and great grandchildren, Wyatt and Austin Simons and Nash and Lyle Jane Jones.
