Jackie Morris Woodard

Jackie Morris Woodard, 95, of Dallas, TX went home to his Lord and Savior on August 22, 2023. Jack was born in Dallas, TX to Bill and Esta Woodard on June 15, 1928. He married Dorthy Reynolds on June 15, 1946. They were happily married for 75 years. He attended Pleasant Grove High School and Tarlton State University. He joined the Navy Reserve in 1950 and served for 4 years. Jack worked as a pattern maker and retired at the age of 87. He served as a Boy Scout Master and as a deacon and elder at Pleasant Grove Christian Church. At the age of 90, Jack began a quest to read as many books as he could. He reached an amazing total of 598 books by the age of 95.

Those who preceded him in death are his parents, his wife, sister Janis Morrow; son David Woodard, and daughter DeEsta Criner. Those left to cherish his memory include son Dennis Woodard and wife Gail of Rodchester, MA, daughter DeAnna Parker and husband Kelly of Lewisville, TX; son-in-law Steve Criner of Dallas, TX; grandchildren: Daniel Parker, Ashley Parker, Alexis Parker and Kelsey Velho and her husband T.J.; great-grandchildren: Layla, Colton and Dexon; numerous extended family and close friends who will miss him dearly. In honor of Jack Woodard, the family is asking for donations to be made to Pleasant Grove Christian Church located at 1324 Pleasant Drive, Dallas, TX 75217
