Howard Lee Franklin, 88, of Dallas, TX passed away on July 10, 2019. Howard was born on September 24, 1930 to Harve and Ida Advalon Webb Franklin in Tyronza, Arkansas. Born in Arkansas he was raised in Tennessee before moving to Dallas, TX to live the rest of his life. On April 12, 1952, Howard married Thelma June Ryan in Dallas, TX, and they spent a wonderful 65 years together before she passed away in 2017. He was a machinist working for the First Company for about 20 years, with his wife who worked there for most of his time there, as well as other companies till he retired. He was a life long learner and really liked knowing more than anybody else. He spent time playing stringed instruments of all kinds. He enjoyed raising exotic birds and horses, hunting, fishing and gardening in his spare time too. Howard loved his time with his family the most and was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. Those left to cherish his memory are daughters: Vicki Johnston of Redland, CA, Bobbie Jo Polasek and husband Bobby Ray, Sr. of Terrell, TX, Jean Wheatley and husband John of Valley Mills, TX and Glenda Morgan of Dallas, TX, who was his primary care giver in his later years; 6 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
