Gordon Keith Rohrbacker passed away peacefully at the age of 81 on December 16, 2023. Gordon was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a respected member of the construction community.

Born on January 26, 1942 in Fair Grove, Missouri. He grew up on a farm, going to the fields as a young kid with his siblings.

His journey in construction began early in his life and became his lifelong pursuit. He dedicated over five decades to the construction industry, leaving an indelible mark on numerous projects throughout his career. Gordon's work ethic was unmatched, and his expertise was admired by colleagues and clients alike. His commitment to excellence was evident in every project he undertook. His keen eye for detail and unwavering dedication made him a role model for many aspiring construction professionals. He enjoyed teaching many family members his trade.

Gordon married Shelby Barnett on June 11, 1960, in Nuevo CA. That was the beginning of a 61 year adventure for them. Together they raised six children. Gordon was a family man at heart. He cherished moments spent with his beloved wife, children, and grandchildren. Gordon was full of life. He made sure everyone in his company heard about the Lord through conversation or song. His faith, wisdom, guidance, and unwavering support will be dearly missed by his family, who will forever remember him as a pillar of strength and a source of boundless love.

In his leisure time, Gordon enjoyed the simple pleasures of life – sharing stories with friends and exploring the great outdoors. He spent countless days enjoying fishing and an equal amount of days in the deer stand. He had an adventurous spirit and an infectious enthusiasm for life that inspired those around him.

Gordon Keith Rohrbacker's legacy extends far beyond the structures he helped build. His love for people, his kindness, integrity, and unwavering work ethic have left an enduring impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy that will continue to inspire those he loved so dearly. Gordon will be dearly missed and remembered fondly by his family, friends, colleagues, and everyone whose lives he touched.

Gordon was preceded in death by his wife Shelby, son Gordon Jr, parents Clyde and Corinthia Rohrbacker, brothers Glen, Norman, Ray and wife Linda, and Lloyd Rohrbacker, and son-in-law Jeff Horton.

He is survived by his son Henry and wife Angie, daughters Carla Ashton and husband Bobby, Janet Bonner and husband Scot, Joanna Horton, Donna Ward and husband Rodney, daughter-in-law Lisa Rohrbacker, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, siblings Marjorie Prine, Nancy Mills, Mary Hamilton and husband Mel, Linda Churches and husband Ken, sisters-in-law Gayla and Sue Rohrbacker, and many nieces and nephews.

The family invites friends to join them and to share their fondest memories of Gordon at a visitation on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home Chapel in Kaufman.

Gordon's life will be celebrated at a funeral service on Wednesday, December 20, at 1:00 pm, at the First Baptist Church in Eustace. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Mabank.
