Glenn Morris Jennings, aged 90, passed away Monday, April 27, 2026, in the ICU at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Kaufman. He was born on September 14, 1935, in Dallas, Texas. Survived by his loving wife of 53 years Sharon Jennings. Also surviving him is his sister Betty Arnwine of New Braunfels, Texas and many nephews and nieces.
Preceding him in death were his parents John Earnest Jennings and Jeffie Hawkins Jennings as well as sisters Pat King, Jo Kalenic, and brother C. E. Buddy Jennings.
Glenn attended Sunset High School in Dallas on Tuesdays and Thursdays! The rest of his time was spent working on his latest hot car.
Glenn served 22 years in the US Navy as a corpsman retiring as a Chief Hospitalman. He spent 5 tours in Vietnam and was on the following ships: USS Belle Grove LSD-2, USS Pickaway APA-222, USS Renville APA-227, USS Thomaston LSD-28. Glenn completed Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape Training or SERE school.
In 1972, Glenn married the love of his life, Sharon, in Albany, Georgia. Their 53-year union was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together, they built a life rich in love, laughter, and shared adventures.
Glenn was an avid bass fisherman, hunter, outdoorsman and poker player. Working in the yard and tending his vegetable garden gave him deep satisfaction. Glenn would look around at the wonders of nature and say how could anyone not believe in God when we have all this.
After retiring from the Navy, Glenn became part owner of a dental delivery service and then worked for Baylor Dental College in Dallas, retiring in 2000.
Thank you to the ER department at Texas Health Presbyterian in Kaufman for their kindness and efforts during Glenn’s ER visits. Also thanking the nurses in the ICU for their compassion and caring as they let Glenn gently slip into God’s hands.
If you wish, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Glenn’s name to the Kaufman County Library, Becker Methodist Church, Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, St. Judes or your favorite charity.
A celebration of Glenn’s life will be held on Saturday, Mary 9, 2026 at Becker Methodist Church, 7901 Co Rd 4030 75142 At the corner of FM 2860 and 1895 in beautiful downtown Becker. Visitation 12 PM, Service 1PM and Lunch around 2PM.
