Frutoso Castilleja Juarez, Jr.

Frutoso Castilleja Juarez, Jr., a beloved soul whose presence brought joy to all those around him, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. Born in the same city in 1950, Frutoso's journey was one filled with love, laughter, and music.

After completing his education, Frutoso made a courageous decision to serve his country by enlisting in the military. He dedicated five years of his life to the Unites States Marine Corps, demonstrating unwavering commitment and bravery in his duties. His time in the military allowed him to explore the world aboard a military vessel, an experience he treasured deeply.

What truly set Frutoso apart, however, was his infectious sense of humor and his passion for storytelling. He had an unparalleled gift for making people laugh and brightening even the darkest days with his witty anecdotes. His favorite tales were the ones from his military adventures, and he would regale anyone who would listen with vivid accounts of his travels, weaving tales of camaraderie, duty, and the thrill of seeing distant shores.

Later in life, Frutoso became a loving grandfather to Paisley Lopez-Juarez. His one wish during his last battle with cancer was that he’d live long enough to see her walk. And that he did, he cherished every moment spent with Paisley.

Frutoso is survived by his wife Petra; his daughters Lysandra Valdez & husband Michael and Kristen Juarez, and his adoring grandchild, Paisley. In addition to his immediate family, Frutoso also had a special place in his heart for his son in law Michael and nephews, Justin Garcia and John Garcia with whom he loved to "shoot the breeze" and share countless memorable moments, adding an extra layer of joy to his life. Several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.

His fondness for classic films like "Gone with the Wind," "It's a Wonderful Life," and "Casablanca" revealed his timeless spirit and appreciation for cinematic art. Known for being the life of the party, Frutoso's happiness was contagious; his laughter echoing in the memories of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

As we bid farewell to Frutoso Castilleja Juarez, Jr., we remember a man whose joy for life touched everyone he met. May his spirit of happiness and celebration live on in the hearts of those who loved him dearly.
