Elton Eugene Trammell, 89, of Scurry, TX passed away on October 14, 2019 in Dallas, TX. Elton was born on March 24, 1930 to Charles and Willie Trammell in Athens, TX. He was raised in Athens and attended Malakoff High School. Elton worked several jobs before being drafted in the Army and sent to Korea. He earned and Army of Occupation Medal, Combat Inf Badge, Koreas service medal with 2 bronze service stars and a UN service medal. After his time in Korea, he came back home and married Barbara Jean Trammall in Dallas, TX. and worked for several bakeries, finally retiring from Ms Bairds, but he never stopped working. In his spare time he enjoyed running rabbits with greyhounds, blue grass music, playing guitar, and spending time outdoors. Elton loved his family and his most precious time was spent with them. He was a beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather, friendly to everybody and never met a stranger. His wife Barbara Jean, parents, sister Alice Evans and great grandchild Reynalyn Mabini preceded him in death. Those left to cherish his memory are: his children: Zina White and husband Aaron of Scurry, TX and Charles Trammell of Mesquite, TX; grandchildren: Chris Trammell and wife Bianca Martinez, Amanda Trammell and husband Ceasar Gonzalez, Richard Hall and wife Carrie, Ryan Hall and wife Josalen Mabini, Mistie Weatherly and husband Doug, Sarah White and Zachary Whtie; great grandchildren: Damien Del-Angel, Julien Del-Angel, Alyssa Trammell, Adyana Trammell, Cesar Gonzalez Shyann Gonzalez, Savannah Gonzalez, Anglika Mabini, Bailey Hall, Riley Hall, Reese Weatherly, Eli Weatherly, Ozzie Weatherly and one on the way; great-great grandchildren: Ella Mabini, Katie Mabini and one on the way; sisters: Charlene Norlie and husband David and Ruby Davidson and husband Steve; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
