Edward Earl Catlin, 91, passed away in Terrell, TX on September 12, 2019. Edward was born to Emmett Edward and Lura Emma Catlin on January 25, 1928 in Streetman, TX. Edward married Nancy Lee Stone on November 25, 1959 in Dallas, TX. Edward was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union #68 in Dallas for 23 years. He received the Outstanding Religious Volunteer Award in 1992 and 1994 for his missionary work. He served at the Gainesville state School, Mission Service Corps as a volunteer home missionary in the Spanish Mission in Nogales, AZ as director of Food and Crisis Center, in the Resort Ministry in Zapata, TX and Lake of Ozarks, a church starter, Chaplain for Gainesville State School, Southside Baptist Food Pantry and Day care Center, and associate pastor. His wife, parents and brothers: Rev. Daniel Norwood Catlin and Godfrey Jordan Catlin preceded him in death. Those left to cherish his memory are his children: Roy Edward Catlin, Chrysandra Hunt and Linda Bee Long; grandchildren: Scot Eugene Allen, Patsy Renee Brewster and Joey Edward Catlin; sisters: Velda Ailene Herzog and Ina Mae Wood; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
