Edna Stoldt

Edna Layne Stoldt, age 94, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2023. Cancer caused her so much pain over these past six (6) years.

Born on September 6, 1928, in Mesquite, Texas, Edna was the only daughter of Daisey and B.P. Layne. Edna graduated from Forney High School. She was a cheerleader, homecoming queen, and voted most beautiful girl during her high school years. She married Carl Kenneth Stoldt on June 25, 1947. They enjoyed many years of traveling before Carl’s passing in 1984.

Edna worked for the State Highway Department in Kaufman and Dallas for 25 years, drawing street maps. She also worked for the Single Appraisal office in Kaufman for a few years. Edna enjoyed playing cards with her friends and family. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, working puzzles, visiting with her friends at the Senior Citizen Center, and caring for her flowers. Perhaps most of all, she truly enjoyed talking with her friends, family, and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memories are daughter, Linda Stoldt Pinson and her husband, Robert of Kaufman; granddaughter Stacy Pinson Hull and husband Lee of Madison, Wisconsin; granddaughter Lori Pinson Rodriguez and husband, David, of Kaufman; great grandchildren Carlee, Hunter, and Lucas Hull of Wisconsin; and great grandchildren, Cole, Ellie, and Paisley Rodriguez of Kaufman. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family would like to thank Edna’s friends and neighbors, Alinea Hospice Care, Meals on Wheels, the Kaufman Senior Citizens Center, The First Baptist of Kaufman, and her dedicated care givers for their continued support during these trying times.

In lieu of attending funeral services, the family requests honoring Edna by contributing to a charity of choice.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Edna’s family wishes to thank all of you for your loving support during these last days of Edna’s life.

Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home is honored to assist Linda Pinson and her family with the arrangements for Edna.
