Durwood Charles Baird, Jr.

Durwood Charles Baird, Jr., 66, of Quinlan, TX passed away on March 11, 2024, at home.  Durwood was born on April 13, 1957, to Durwood, Sr. and Margaret Baird in Dallas, TX.  He graduated from Sunset High School in Dallas.  Durwood worked as a fire extinguisher inspector for 25 years and an independent construction contractor for over 10 years.  On February 25, 1976, he married Wanda Baird in Kaufman, TX and they have spent a loving 48 years together.  Durwood enjoyed playing pool, he evened traveled the country playing billiards. He really enjoyed the friendly competition between his pool playing friends and you know who you are.  He also spent time going to the lake, camping and fishing.  Durwood was a down home, simple man.  He spoke softly but people listened.  Durwood was a beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather.  His nanny Bessie Dugger, father Durwood and 3 brothers: Tommy Ferrell, Duane Ferrell and Terry Baird preceded him in death.  Those left to cherish his memory include wife Wanda, mother Margaret, son Kenneth Baird and wife Heather, daughter Jennifer Pritchett, grandchildren: Calton Pritchett and wife Shelby and Coby Pritchett; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
