Diana Carol Grimsley

Diana Carol Grimsley, 58, of Kaufman, Texas, went to be with the Lord on August 9, 2026. Diana leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, faith, service, and devotion to her family and community. She was the kind of person whose life was measured not by what she received, but by how much she could give to others.

Diana was born on August 30, 1967, in Dallas, Texas, to Johnny and Carolyn Phillips. She attended school in Mesquite and graduated from West Mesquite High School in 1985. She later attended Eastfield College. On July 19, 1986, she married the love of her life and best friend, Anthony Grimsley, and together they shared 40 years of a loving and devoted marriage.

Throughout her life, Diana worked faithfully and served others wherever she was. She worked for Kemper Insurance, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Kaufman, Kaufman ISD for 10 years, and The American National Bank for 11 years. But her greatest work was never simply a job—it was the countless lives she touched through her kindness, compassion, and willingness to serve.

Diana and Anthony were faithful members of Calvary Baptist Church for 16 years. Her faith was at the heart of who she was, and she lived it through action. She taught Sunday School and volunteered for Vacation Bible School for many years. She also mentored young children at Monday Elementary School and served as president of the KJLCO for several years. Working with and caring for children was more than something Diana enjoyed; it was her ministry. She had a special gift for making children feel loved, valued, and important.

Diana found joy in the simple blessings of home and family. She loved spending time in her flower garden, raising her chickens, and caring for her beloved dogs. Yet, above all else, her greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished grandmother, and a beloved sister. Her generosity knew few limits, and she was known for putting the needs of others before her own. Diana possessed a rare and beautiful heart—kind, selfless, nurturing, and genuinely loving. She gave freely of her time, her energy, her compassion, and her love, often without ever expecting anything in return.

Those who knew Diana will remember not only the things she did, but the way she made people feel. She made a difference simply by being present. Her life was a gift to her family, her church, the children she taught and mentored, and the many friends and members of her community whose lives were made better because she was in them.

Diana was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Carolyn Phillips, and her brother, Johnny Phillips, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Anthony Grimsley; daughters, Karol’Ann Kornegay and husband James, and Andrea Bronson; grandchildren, Perri Nevil, Johnathan Nevil, Luke Nevil, and Jacey Bronson; sister, Jennifer Elaine Hernandez and husband George; sisters-in-law, Brenda Thompson, Nancy Grimsley, Camilla Faust and husband Charles Faust, and Michelle Grimsley; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, church family, and countless others whose lives she touched.

A memorial service celebrating Diana’s life will be held on September 5, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Kaufman, Texas. Family and friends are invited to come together to remember, celebrate, and give thanks for the remarkable life Diana lived and the love she shared so generously with others.

Though Diana's absence leaves an immeasurable emptiness, the love she gave will continue through the lives of those she cared for. Her faith, her generosity, her devotion to family, and her heart for serving others will be remembered for generations to come.

Diana was truly a remarkable woman—deeply loved, faithfully devoted, and selflessly committed to making the lives of others better. Her time on earth may have come to an end, but the love she planted in so many hearts will never fade. She will be profoundly missed and forever cherished.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Fern Norville Children’s Emergency Shelter, in honor of Diana’s lifelong love for children and her commitment to making a difference in their lives.
