Darwin Ellis DeBoard

Darwin Ellis DeBoard, of Kaufman, Texas, passed away on December 25, 2023, at his residence in Kaufman, Texas. He was born on October 17, 1940, in Centerburg, Ohio, and was the son of the late Arthur DeBoard and the late Beulah Hubbard DeBoard.

Darwin dedicated over 25 years of his professional life to the Recreational Vehicle industry as a sales representative. Throughout his career, he developed a reputation for his exceptional work ethic and genuine care for his clients. Darwin's commitment to customer service shone through in all his interactions.


Apart from his successful career, Darwin also proudly served in the United States Army. His military service demonstrated his deep love for his country and his willingness to sacrifice for the greater good.

Outside of work and military service, Darwin lived a life filled with joy and zest. He had an undeniable passion for dance and karaoke and could often be found entertaining others with his infectious energy. Moreover, Darwin was an occasional golfer who cherished spending time on the green. The camaraderie he shared with friends at the VFW, the American Legion, as well as the local AmVets post, brought him great happiness and joy, He believed they were more like family than friends and loved to see them often. His charm and smile definitely captured the hearts of all who met him. He didn’t know a stranger and would help anyone in need.

Darwin's warm spirit touched the lives of many alongside whom he journeyed. He is survived by his loving children: Darwin Ellis DeBoard II, Arthur DeBoard, Dale DeBoard, Brenda Harding, Dean DeBoard, Dwaine DeBoard, Vonda Moore, Teresa Smith; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; devoted aunt Annie Kirby; caring uncle Cecil Hubbard; beloved aunt Margie Bowen; adoring sisters Barbara West and Cookie Stafford; and other family members.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dee, and his son, Paul Harding.

Darwin Ellis DeBoard was known not only for his accomplishments but also for being a father-figure to those close to him. He instilled in his children the values of kindness, integrity, and resilience. Darwin will always be remembered as a pillar of strength, with an infectious laugh and warm heart.

The legacy of Darwin Ellis DeBoard will forever live on in the hearts and minds of those who had the privilege of knowing him. His presence will be dearly missed, but the memories shared with him will continue to be cherished. In honoring his memory, let us celebrate a life well-lived and be inspired by his unwavering commitment to family, service, and joy. Sing on Cowboy!
