Connie Marie Echols

Connie Marie Echols passed away on August 25, 2025, in Terrell, Texas, at the age of 60. She was smart, creative, funny, and kind. Connie was a great teller of stories, crafting the narrative for the most impact. Some of her stories were actually true.

Born on September 29, 1964, in Baltimore, Maryland, Connie was the daughter of Emma Lou (Noble) and William Edward Heeter. Her family then moved to Garland, Texas and she spent her early years playing dress-up with Barbies and with her treasured Mrs. Beasley doll. Connie was proud to be a Girl Scout and embodied the principal of helping others and giving back to her community.

A life-long learner, Connie had a non-linear career path that capitalized on her expertise, interests, and experiences. She worked in the marketing departments of multiple law firms in Atlanta, North Carolina, and Texas. She also worked in a variety of positions in other industries, as well as nonprofit organizations. At the time of her passing, Connie was employed at Diverse Companies in Dallas as the executive assistant to the CEO.

In addition to corporate positions, Connie had several side hustle businesses including a seasonal business she named Your Christmas Companion. This allowed Connie to use her creativity, shopping skills, and home décor sensibilities in helping individuals, businesses, and nonprofits by decorating their spaces and wrapping gifts.

Connie loved fashion and enjoyed watching the Oscars every year to see the stars walking the red carpet in their fancy attire. She treasured her canine companions, including her beloved dog Bella and previous dogs Sasha and Simon.

Volunteering in her community was always important to Connie. For the past few years, Connie helped the Dallas 24 Hour Club and the Magdalen House in Dallas with numerous events. Connie was a member of Stonepoint Church in Wills Point and served as a greeter when she could.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents Emma Lou (Noble) Heeter and William Edward Heeter; half-brothers Dennis, Gary "Billy", and Steve Heeter of Pennsylvania; and Larry Farley of Oklahoma.

Connie is remembered by her brother William J. (Patricia) Heeter; stepmother Amy; half-sisters Deborah (Bill) Willey of Pennsylvania and Dale Annette (John) Hill of Oklahoma; several aunts, uncles, cousins; her best friend Jo Ann Dodge-Myers; and many friends.

A memorial service officiated by Pastor Dick Patterson will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Stonepoint Church in Wills Point, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Dallas24HourClub.org or MagdalenHouse.org.
