Carolyn Denese Coats was born in Houston, Texas, where she was raised and attended Aldine Junior High and Aldine High School. From an early age, Carolyn demonstrated a caring spirit that would define her life’s work and legacy.
She began her professional career as a dental assistant, dedicating herself to helping patients feel comfortable and cared for. After several years, she continued her service in the medical field working for Dr. McAlroy as a patient assistant. For more than 20 years, Carolyn faithfully served patients with compassion, kindness, and a gentle heart.
Following her time in the medical field, Carolyn embraced a new calling as the Senior Center Activity Director for the City of Humble, Texas. For 18 years, she devoted herself to enriching the lives of senior citizens, creating programs, activities, and a welcoming community for all who attended. Her dedication and warmth left a lasting impact on countless families before her retirement.
After retiring, Carolyn moved from Humble, Texas to Crandall, Texas to be closer to her beloved grandchildren, who were the joy of her life. She treasured every moment spent with her family.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents Howard Coats and Ona Ward Coats, and sister Betty Ann Smith.
Carolyn is survived by her son Michael Chris; her four grandchildren, Michael Chance, Rachel Nicole Ebarb and husband Zak, Jacob Dawson, and William Brooks; and her six great-grandchildren, CaMari, Makensie, Marcus, Jackson, Jordon, and Kelce; her sister Vickie Wilson and husband Jim.
She lovingly opened her home to her niece and nephews helping raise and guide them during their younger years. Carolyn was deeply involved in her son’s childhood activities, serving faithfully in the PTA and as a devoted Room Mother during his school years.
A member of First Baptist Church of Kaufman, Carolyn lived her faith through her actions. Her life was defined by giving, serving, and loving others – her family, her patients, and the seniors she cared for so dearly.
Carolyn Denese Coats will be remembered for her servant's heart, her unwavering love for her family, and the countless lives she touched through her kindness and generosity. Her legacy of compassion and service will live on in all who knew and loved her.
