Canuto P. Martinez

Canuto P. Martinez, 79, of Kemp, TX passed away on May 7, 2022, at home.  Canuto was born on January 19, 1943, to Andres and Josephine Martinez in Placedo, TX.  Canuto married Maria J. Gomez on July 4, 1963, in Bloomington, TX and they have spent a loving 58 years together.  He was a truck driver throughout his life.  He loved to garden, growing vegetables and roses, and going fishing.  He was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Brother.  His parents and siblings: Salvadore P. Martinez, Ricardo P. Martinez, Baldomero P. Martinez, Cruz P. Martinez and Elvira Gonzalez preceded him in death.  Those left to cherish his memory are wife Maria, children: Canuto Martinez, Jr., Adelita “Della” Martinez an Jeffory Woodard, Enrique “Henry” Martinez and wife Patsy, Sofia “Sofie” Perez and husband Benjamin and Nick “Nickie” Martinez; grandchildren: Michael Martinez and wife Mandy, Joe Davalos and wife Stella Loera, Maria Jane Davalos and husband Gary Nelson, Nessa Reed and husband Hugo Barbosa, Benjamin Perez III and wife Kristy, Johnathon Perez and wife Mariah Chandler, Jacob Perez and wife Beatriz Aguayo, Joel Perez and wife Marisol Loera, Steven Romero, Roxanna Fernandez, Enrique Martinez, Melissa Carmack, Megan Carmack, Melanie Carmack, Jeremy Perkins and wife Taylor and Christopher Martinez; 35 great grandchildren; siblings: Andres Martinez, Jr., Steven Martinez, Romana Gamez, Mary Medina, Rosemary Villanueva, Delores Perez and Josephine Sanchez; numerous extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
