Brenda A. Claibourne

Brenda A. Claibourne, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on December 11, 2023, at the age of 73 in Terrell, Texas. Born on September10, 1950 in Harlingen, Texas. Brenda led a life that was filled with love of her family and for the love of others.

Brenda will always be remembered a "mother of many” – a woman who nurtured and cared for not only her own children but also those in her community. Her kindness knew no bounds, and she dedicated much of her life to helping others.

One of Brenda's passions was crochet. Her nimble fingers could create intricate patterns and beautiful designs with ease. She often used her talents to make blankets and for each of her grandchildren and for those in need, spreading warmth both literally and figuratively. Brenda's love for gardening was also evident in the colorful blooms that adorned her front yard. She took great pride tending to her flowers and creating a serene oasis where she could find solace.

In her downtime, Brenda enjoyed watching game shows. The excitement and energy of contestants trying their luck on the screen brought joy to her heart. Her face would light up as she cheered on the participants and tried to guess the answers alongside them.

Brenda’s caring nature extended beyond her immediate family when she met the second love of her life, Ben Kelley. She accepted his family as her own and continued her loving ways with them as well.

Brenda is survived by her three sons: Ted Claibourne Jr., Walter Claibourne, and Charles Claibourne; her daughter Kathrina Claibourne; her brothers Mickey Stanley, Kenny Stanley, and Mark Stanley; her sisters Susan Stanley and Judy Stanley; as well as 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Each of them holds cherished memories of times spent with Brenda and will forever carry her love in their hearts.

Brenda was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Stanley.
