Betty Yancy, a loving mother and grandmother, passed away on January 9, 2026, in Kaufman, Texas, at the age of 89. Born on August 22, 1936, in Cooper, Texas, Betty was a cherished member of her community and a devoted caretaker to her family.
Betty graduated from Cooper High School and went on to work at Gena Lab in Garland, Texas, where she contributed her skills and dedication for several years.
She is survived by her two sons, Billy Jack Yancey and William Yancy, and her beloved granddaughter, Melinda Yancy. Betty is also survived by her brother, Hollis Sandridge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Yancey, and her parents, Ervan and Bertha Sandridge.
Betty Yancy's legacy of love and compassion will forever live on through her family and friends, who will always remember her gentle spirit and dedication to caring for those in her life. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her.
