Belva Marie Harrison, 75, of Kaufman, Texas, went to be with the Lord on November 3, 2026. She was born on May 16, 1951, in Kaufman, Texas, to Jesse and Dorothy Hill and was raised in Scurry, Texas. Belva was a woman of many talents and a personality that could light up a room.
In the 1970s, she worked for a keypunching company. In the 1990s, she began working in market research with Dallas Focus, starting out in a garage before eventually moving into an office. Dallas Focus continues to operate today, and Belva was proud to have been a part of the company. Later in life, she finished her working career as a cashier at Goodwill.
Belva enjoyed staying active and had a love for sports from an early age. She played basketball and softball as a child and young adult and also enjoyed riding horses. She had a creative side and loved painting, arts and crafts, and, of course, cooking. She especially enjoyed a good slice of watermelon! Belva loved being around people and was known for her outgoing nature, warm personality, and unmistakable charisma. She never met a stranger and had a way of making those around her feel welcome. Above all else, Belva cherished her family. Her children and grandchildren were the greatest joys of her life, and she loved them dearly. Her faith was also an important part of her life, and she enjoyed reading her Bible.
Belva was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be remembered for her vibrant personality, independent spirit, creativity, strong work ethic, and, most importantly, the love she had for her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Dorothy Hill; and her siblings, Thurman Cousins, Imogene Murr, Lou Blair, Wendall Cousins, and Jesse Hill, Jr. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Scot Alan Jackson and wife Shelby, Roy Dudley Jackson, Jr., and Nathaniel Harrison; seven grandchildren; her siblings, Kenneth Cousins and wife Wanda, James Hill and wife Vicki, and Diana Woody; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Though Belva will be deeply missed, the memories she created, the lives she touched, and the love she shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
