Born on June 21, 1956, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Barry's journey through life was marked by love, adventure, and an unwavering dedication to his family.
Throughout his career as a truck driver, Barry traveled extensively across the United States, bearing witness to the diverse landscapes and communities that make up this vast country. In addition to his time on the road, his hand-built playgrounds for joy-laden children, crafting spaces for laughter and play for Burger King and McDonald's around the globe. His work not only provided for his family but also enriched countless lives, embodying his spirit of kindness and community.
Barry’s heart was especially anchored in his family; they were his everything. His love for the beach drew his wife Sheila and him to the sun-kissed shores of Saint Augustine, Florida, where they would create cherished memories amidst the waves. He found joy not only in the sunlit days, but also in the shared moments of watching movies, each film a story woven into the tapestry of his family's life.
Known for his warmth and generosity, Barry exemplified the essence of human connection. He never met a stranger, welcoming all with open arms and a friendly smile. His strong work ethic became a legacy, inspiring those who knew him to approach their endeavors with the same passion and integrity he displayed.
Barry is survived by his beloved wife, Sheila Besch, who stood by him through all of life's chapters; his daughters, Jessica Cox, Crystal Kunde, Ashley Palmer; his son Mark Palmer; as well as his treasured grandchildren: Kaitlyn Coment, Hunter Besch, Madison Costello, Brianna Kunde, Faith Besch, Isaiah Olivo, Waylon Cox, Claire Besch, Rhylynn Palmer, Madyson Palmer, Grayson Palmer, and Savannah Besch. The family is further blessed by the presence of his great-grandchildren, Oliver Davis, Sawyer Besch, and Stella Raleigh. Barry also leaves behind his brother, Terry Besch, and sisters Sandy Kingcaid and GiGi Littenburg, along with his niece, Michelle Roberts.
He is preceded in death by his son, Barry Besch, Jr.; sister Sharon; and his parents, William and Ruth (Littenburg) Besch.
