Alejandro "Alex" Zapata

Alejandro “Alex” Zapata, 45 of Crandall, TX passed away on May 4, 2023.  Alex was born on June 4, 1977, to Abel Zapata and Anita Maria Rodriquez.  As a kid, Alex grew up in West Dallas, before settling just outside of Crandall in 1986.  He went to Crandall High School, graduating in 1997.  Alex married Kristi Grady on February 22, 2002, in Las Vegas, NV and they have spent a loving 21 years together.  They’d known each other since they were 14 years old, and it took a little while, but Kristi gave him a chance.  In 2008, Alex and Kristi started his walk-in cooler business “SEMTECH” which he named for their 3 kids. He enjoyed grilling and having his friends and family over to spend time with them.  Alex was a beloved Son, Husband, Father, Brother and Uncle.  His father Abel preceded him death.  Those left to cherish his memory are wife Kristi, mother Anita, children: Sofia Zapata, Max Zapata and Emiliano Zapata; siblings: Sandra Moore and husband Russell and Abel Zapata, Jr. and wife Angie, nieces and nephews: Chris Cooper, Chelsea Cooper, Ben Cooper, David Zapata, Michael Zapata and Zoe Zapata; numerous extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
