Carol Joanne Nyberg

CAROL JOANNE NYBERG Carol Joanne Nyberg was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on December 26, 1939 to Marion and Mildred Botton Covert. Carol passed away in a Kaufman hospital on October 18, 2008. Carol was raised in Minneapolis and lived most of her life in Minnesota. She and her husband Duane moved to Scurry in 1996 where she was known as G-GMA. Carol was a member of the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church of Scurry. She married Duane Nyberg in San Antonio and he preceded her in death in July of 2000. Carol was also preceded in death by a son Cameron Smith and a grandson Matthew Lumpkin. Carol is survived by her son: Curtis Smith and his wife Terri Ordahl of Scurry, daughter: Cheryl Lumpkin and Glen Whitley of Scurry, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. The family requests memorials be to the Kaufman County Children's Shelter in Kaufman.
