Nathaniel Holder

b. July 22, 1924

Nathaniel Holder was born in Dyke, Texas on July 22, 1924 to Warren and Mattie Herod Holder. Nathan passed away in a Kaufman, Texas hospital on January 24, 2012. Nathan was raised in Grand Prairie, Texas where he graduated from high school. He entered the U. S. Army Air Corp. and served in World War II in Germany. Nathan was shot down twice and received the Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He served seven years in the service. Nathan moved to Dallas in 1951 and in 1968 he began working for the City of Dallas Park Police and later worked for the Greenville Avenue Bank. He moved to Kaufman in 1988 when he retired. Nathan was a member of the United Methodist Church in Grand Prairie. On December 17, 1949 Nathan married Hattie Faye Hammonds in Dallas, Texas. His parents and five siblings preceded Nathan in death. He is survived by his wife: Hattie of Kaufman, son: Steve Holder and his wife Missy of Lindale, daughter: Pam Dunn and her husband Steve of Arlington, grandchildren: Danielle Phillips, Kathleen Dunn, Douglas Dunn, Richard Holder, Whitney Holder, Jennifer Hendrick, Anna Snodgrass and Seth Holder, seven great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
