J. M. Blevins was born in Gardenville, Texas on April 9, 1924 to Arthur and Florence Holder Blevins. J. M. passed away in Kaufman, Texas on October 28, 2011. J. M. was raised in Gardenville and later entered the U. S. Army during World War II serving in China and India. After the service J. M. moved to Denison where he lived for five years before moving to California in 1951. He moved to Sherman in 1967 and later moved to Red Oak in 1980. J.M. later lived in DeSoto and then moved to Kaufman in 1987. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Kaufman where he was a Sunday School Teacher and a deacon of the church. On August 1, 1987 J. M. married Arleta Fern Vanderford in Dallas. J.M.was preceded in death by his first wife Lois Hunt on May 30, 1986 and by two grandsons, William Kevin Eschrich and Darrin Pool. J.M. is survived by his wife: Arleta of Kaufman, son: Don Blevins of Arlington, daughters: Shirley Pool of Philadelphia, Miss, Joan Power of DeSoto and Wanda Higgins of Frankston, sister: Lavonne Blondy of Sherman, nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
