They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be flesh and flourishing our faltering steps and ebbing strength reveal life as a fading page; yet holding firm to Christ in faith keeps hope alive at any age. Psalm 92:14 Juanita Tevis was born March 29, 1923 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas the only child of Cora Mae Dickey and Sherman Green. She accepted Christ into her life at an early age and grew-up in Rockwall, Texas. Those proceeding her in death are her mother, father, grandmother and beloved husband. She moved to Kansas City, Missouri in the early 1940's where she resided most of all her life. On July 2, 1942 she met and married Lorenzo Embra Tevis, their union of love and devotion remained faithfully for 62 years until his death in 2004. To this union is one daughter Lovie Beasley. Juanita, worked as an order packer for Lake City Army Ammunition Plant Independence, MO, the largest producer of small caliber ammunition for the United State military. Juanita, loved traveling, entertaining and play bingo with her family and friends. Her warm smile and laugh added to her personal charm and display her " hospitality gift " no surprise when she became a Homemaker/ Nanny to the Chaplain family and later would work and retire from The Catholic Homemaking Associate, there she received numerous awards for her outstanding dedication and superior quality of care serving others. Although, retired Juanita service to others would continue well past her late 80's. When she became a member of "The Golden Angels Community Choir" a local women and men Christian group serving the Lord in musical ministry at community centers, churches and at many different venues in the Kansas City area. Juanita leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter Lovie (Charles) Beasley, (Kemp TX);five grand children Shelia (Stanley) Cain, Tracy Brown, Carmen ( Odis) Tyson, Calvin Beasley, J.C. Beasley and nine great-grand children with a host of other relatives, friends and church family. Juanita Tevis a.k.a "Nana" will be missed by those who knew and loved her dearly....
