DONNA DIANNE NICHOLS NEWTON Donna Dianne Nichols Newton, beloved wife, mother, granny, sister and aunt, passed from this life into the arms of her Heavenly Father on March 25, 2014. She was born to Lewis Franklin and Annie Ruth Broyles Nichols on March 21, 1955 in Kaufman, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her older brother, W.D. Nichols; infant brother, Billy Wayne Nichols; sister-in-law, Elsie Kay Nichols; father-in-law, Billy Newton; and brother-in-law Ronnie Newton. Donna is survived by her husband, Ricky Albert Newton of Combine, Texas; daughter Deonna Ann Wilson and her husband Justin, and her precious grandchildren, Jamie Dee Wilson and James William Wilson, all of Combine; sisters, Peggy Roberts and her husband Lennie, Mary Harvey and her husband Don, and brothers Rodger Nichols and Larry Nichols; mother- and father-in-law Jane and Leonard Crow; step-mother-in-law Gloria Newton; brothers-in-law Mikey Newton and his wife Kimberly and Jimbo Newton and his wife Mary Jane; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Donna was also survived by her loyal and faithful companion Gusie who was by her side until the very end. As a teenager, Donna worked at the Crandall Dairy Mart, where she was followed around constantly by the niece that idolized her and at age 4 aspired to be a "Dairy Marter" like her aunt. Donna later worked at the Crandall Independent School District for many years, and then at Handiworks. She made many lifelong friends at all these places and everywhere she went. After retiring from Handiworks, she spent her time caring for and loving her precious grandchildren. Donna was an avid animal lover, and rescued many dogs, cats and other animals throughout her life. No animal was ever hungry or alone when they were near Donna. When Donna started school, her dog Mutt would join her every morning at school and lay under her desk, but Mutt somehow missed the news when Donna was promoted to second grade, so that year, he went back to the same first grade classroom and the same desk. Donna's family likes to think that her Mutt, Coco, Mitzi, Queeny, Sally and Jumbo are now following her around in Heaven.
