Virginia Maurine Ross

VIRGINIA"MAURINE" ROSS Virginia "Maurine" Ross, age 84, passed away peacefully in Dallas on June 27, 2014. Born January 8, 1930, in Proctor, TX, she is preceded in death by her parents, Bash and Muriel Byrd. It was in high school where she met and married her husband of 68 years, Harold Ross. They lived in Dallas for 30 years before moving to Kaufman, TX in 1983. Maurine was employed at Great National Life for 39 years. She was extremely active in her church, First Baptist Church of Kaufman. She and Harold enjoyed playing cards and dominoes weekly with their church friends. She devoted many hours watching the Rangers and the Cowboys. Her unselfishness and total commitment to everyone she met were her hallmarks. She was our inspirational spirit! Her legacy will live on in her children and spouses: Kenneth Ross and wife Pam, of Kent, WA; Keith and Debi Ross, of Dallas. Maurine adored her grandchildren: Natalie Baker and husband, Jason, of Dallas; Ryan Ross of Venice, CA; Justin Fisher of Kent, WA. On June 21, 2014, Briggs Morgan Baker was born, her first great-grandson. She is survived by two sisters, Mary Reid and Linda and Ed Schell of Kaufman; and one brother, Don and Lynda Byrd of Wills Point, TX.
