VIRGIL DEAN CROW Virgil Dean Crow of Scurry, Texas passed away November 11, 2014. Virgil was born in Ben Hur, Texas on April 18, 1931 to Camp and Clara Palmour Crow. Virgil was raised in Mexia and served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. After, he married Mary Louise West on August 30 1957 in Wilmer he moved to Dallas. He began working for Ellis County Sheriff Department as a Deputy Sheriff. Virgil was with the Ellis County Sheriff Department for twenty-two years before retiring in 1991. Virgil moved to Scurry after he retired and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kaufman. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary on April 17, 2014. Virgil is survived by his sons: Darryl Crow and his wife Jodi of Scurry, Virgil Dean Crow Jr. and his wife Gail of Kaufman, daughter: Melinda Crow of Scurry, grandchildren: Kristen, Tyler, Nathan, Corey, Cheyenne and Kyle, eight great-grandchildren, sister: Vera Richey of Mount Pleasant and many other relatives. In lieu of flowers family request donations to Texas peace Officers memorial Foundation.
