CHARLES DURWOOD BLANTON Charles Durwood Blanton was born in the Warsaw Community on February 27, 1927 to Oscar Lewis Blanton and Lillie Dell Holland. Charles passed away in a Garland, Texas hospital on February 8, 2015. He was raised in the Warsaw Community and then entered the United State Army and served during the Korean Conflict. After, the service Charles moved back to the Warsaw Community and later moved to Garland in 1959 where he lived the rest of his life. He worked for Marmon Motors in Garland and then worked for Texas Instruments until he retired. Charles was a charter member of the Lutheran Church of Garland and loved wood working, golfing, farming and followed the Texas Rangers. On May 30, 1959 Charles married Jackie Lee Sitz in Rosebud, Texas. Charles is survived by his wife: Jackie of Garland, son: Randy Blanton and his wife Sherie of Rowlett, daughter: Kim Kay and her husband John of Leonard, brother: Shunnie Blanton of Warsaw, grandchildren: Jennifer Perez, Chris Blanton, Brooke Kay, Jacob Kay and Zachary Kay, great-grandchildren: Andrew, Trevor, Kaitlyn and Adeline and many other relatives and friends.
