Elbert Ann Davis Elbert Ann Davis was born on September 14, 1930 to Elbert Mauney and Anna Collins in Norphlet, Arkansas. Ann was born and raised in Norphlet, Arkansas. She graduated from Southern State College in Magnolia, Arkansas with a bachelor's degree in education. She taught school in Hanburg, Arkansas. She moved to Kaufman in 1957 and started teaching school in 1957. She taught physical education and health. All while coaching the girls track, volleyball, and basketball teams. She retired form Kaufman Independent School District in 1990. Ann was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kaufman. Ann married James W. Davis on July 24, 1954 in Norphlet, Arkansas. James Davis preceded Ann in death on April 3, 2003. Elbert has a son Keith Davis and wife Teresa from Kaufman, Texas. Daughter Alesia Holbrook and husband Rick from Conway, Arkansas. Brothers; Jim Mauney of Little Rock Arkansas and Richard Mauney of Memphis, Tennessee. Sisters; Harriet Akin of Camdon, Arkansas, and Rosemary Steely of Magnolia, Arkansas.
