Obit for Lee Roy Mayfield Services for Kaufman resident Lee Roy Mayfield, 95, were held at Parker Ashworth Chapel in Kaufman at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, with Pastor Jerry Groom officiating the service. He was laid to rest at the Morrow Cemetery in the Ola community where he spend most of his life. Mr. Mayfield passed away in his sleep on September 12, 2015. He was born October 9, 1919 in Kaufman County in the community of Flat Rock to Jim and Texana Mayfield. He was a lifelong farmer, selling peas, corn, watermelons and various other vegetables to just about every person in the county. He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. Survivors include, two daughters, Ethel Kennemer of Kaufman TX and Joyce Harmon, of Canton, TX. He helped raise four grandchildren, Beverly Tallas, of Mesquite, Tx, Lori Walker of Dallas, TX, Clint Walker of Canton, TX and Lee Ann Doss of Grand Saline. He was blessed to have eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were George Mayfield, Mike Waters, Steve Walck, Will Doss, Jimmy Tallas and Dawson Walker.
